SETTLEMENT WITH PANOLA COUNTY, MS

This law firm recently settled the case of Walter Dear vs. Panola County, Mississippi, et al Cause No. 2:10CV164-P-S, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. Mr. Dear was a detainee in the Panola County Detention Center for alleged violation of probation. He was assaulted by one of his pod mates, resulting in serious physical injury. Mr. Dear alleged in his complaint that the assault occurred because of the policy of Panola County Detention Center to pass out money to inmates in the presence of other inmates. The defendants settled without admission of liability. The settlement terms are confidential.
